
Young influential Kenyan forward Henry Meja is off the mark in Sweden after making it to the starting line-up of their pre-season friendly match against Taby FK.
Meja featured for 60 minutes before being replaced. He did not, however, find the back of the net.
Meja was signed up by AIK from FKF Premier League Giants Tusker on a five-year deal starting January 2022. His contract runs until September 1, 2026.
He featured for Kakamega High School at the Secondary School Games, where his career sprouted.

Furthermore, he has played been a star for non-league side Lirhembe Arsenal, which features in off-season tournaments, among them the Cleo-Malala tournament.
Also in AIK’s starting line-up was yet another Kenyan, Eric “Marcelo” Ouma, who played the entire minutes at left-back.
Marcelo has been at the club since early 2020, after signing from the Swedish third-tier side Vasalunds.

Elsewhere, in South Africa, Brian Mandela played the entire 90 minutes on Monday as Mamelodi Sundowns beat Chippa United 2-0 in the Premier Soccer League.
Sundowns have an unassailable 17-point lead at the top of the PSL. Their closest challengers, second-placed Orlando Pirates, have a match in hand.
Over the weekend, Olunga extended his tally at the top of the Qatar Stars League with two goals in a 4-0 win over Al Rayyan. Olunga tops the chart with 19 goals.
