West Ham's Lanzini Issues Update After Horrifying Accident

On Thursday, March 31 Manuel Lanzini was involved in a near-death accident while heading for training. 

Lanzini was returning from the international break where he represented Argentina.

The 29-year-old West Ham United midfielder was being driven by a chauffeur to training before the car lost control.

“Hello people, I want to thank everyone for the messages of support and affection on this day. I was scared too but thank God, as far as the accident was, everything went well.  

“Thank you very much. I want to thank you for all the messages you sent me of love and support,” his statement read.

According to the report from the Metropolitan Police, the car had left the westbound carriageway before colliding with a tree. 

Lanzini underwent assessment from the West Ham medical team at Rush Green and was declared fit and well. 

The medics ruled out sending him to the hospital for further analysis and admission. 

West Ham will face Everton on April 3, in a Premier League match and Lanzini is expected to be available for contention.
