Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) sensational striker, Kylian Mbappe, has featured on the center and front cover of FIFA 23, a product of Electronic Arts (EA) Sports, a leading gaming publisher, for a third year in a row.

The 23-year-old French forward, who is viewed by many as one of the world’s best players, also featured in the cover of the popular game in 2021 and 2022.

Mbappe had an impressive 2021/ 2022 season netting 39 goals and providing 26 assists. He scored two goals in their UEFA Champions League quarter final clash against eventual winners, Real Madrid. He also helped PSG lift the French Ligue 1 title.

Mbappe - who recently signed a lucrative contract with PSG - took to social media to express his delight.

“3 in a row 👑. Proud to feature on the cover again #FIFA23,” read his Twitter post.

The former Monaco player is also the cover star of the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition. He has featured alongside Chelsea and Australian female footballer Samantha May Kerr.

Kerr has become the first female footballer to appear on the cover of an EA Sports game.

She was influential in Chelsea’s Women’s Super League triumph last season. The 28-year-old also helped the Blues qualify for the final of the 2021/2022 UEFA Women’s Champions League final where they were hammered by FC Barcelona Femeni.

Former Manchester United goal poacher, Wayne Rooney, and Argentine attacker, Lionel Messi, are the only stars who have featured on FIFA’s cover more than Mbappe.

Messi - who was unplayable at Barcelona - featured on the cover between 2013 and 2016. He currently plays alongside Mbappe at PSG.

Rooney holds the record for most cover appearances. The England international was the face of FIFA between 2006 and 2012.

Other players who have previously featured in the cover include Arsenal’s legend Thierry Henry, Germany midfielder Marco Reus, Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard, Virgil Van Dijk, Jack Wilshere and Ricardo Kaka.

FIFA is played by millions of individuals across the globe. In many parts of East Africa, particularly Kenya, most people reap huge profits from the FIFA Gaming business. They usually charge between 20 and 30 shillings per game.

EA Sports has not released FIFA 23 yet. They are likely to make it available for their consumers in late September or early October after the start of top European leagues. FIFA 22 was released on October 21 last year.
