Football fans are usually very active during transfer windows, refreshing their social media accounts every few minutes to check if their beloved clubs have signed new stars or parted ways with some players.
With fake news spreading like wildfire in today’s mainstream media outlets, it is difficult for individuals to believe whatever football related information they come across particularly in social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
However, if the update or news comes from Fabrizio Romano, the majority of football fans will believe it to be true.

Romano is currently the most trusted sports journalist in the football industry. TeamKenya.co.ke takes a look at the profile of a man behind the popular tagline “Here We Go”.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Romano revealed that truth is vital in journalism, that is why he always waits until getting all the facts before breaking a story.
"I do not have a deadline to meet or a paper to sell. I write things when they are ready,” stated Romano.
Fabrizio was born in Naples, Italy in 1993. He started his successful career at the tender age of 18 as a freelance journalist.
His breakthrough came when he became the first reporter to break Mauro Icardi’s move from La Liga giants Barcelona to Sampdoria FC.
Prior to breaking Icardi's transfer news, Romano was asked by an Italian who worked at Barcelona's La Masia academy to help him do a profile of Argentine forward and Gerard Deulofeu. The Italian was an aspiring football agent.

Romano did the profile and that is why he got his first connection with a football agent. From there he started building connections with managers, agents and players from top European leagues.
The 29-year-old who has previously worked for Sky Sport Italy is a die-hard fan of recently relegated English Premier League side Watford FC. Romano must have a good reason for supporting Watford, considering the fact that he is from Italy. He could have supported big Italian clubs like Juventus or AC Milan.
He uses social media platforms, primarily Twitter to break football transfer news or update his followers on the progress of deals. He also has a YouTube channel where he talks about football transfers.
Some of the big transfer news that made Romano a global phenomenon include Bruno Fernandes' move from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United and Robert Lewandoski's departure from Bayern Munich to FC Barcelona.
The other interesting thing about Romano is that he is multilingual. Apart from speaking Italian, he can also speak Portuguese, English and Spanish fluently.
His multilingual ability has made him employed by some of the leading media outlets in the world including Caught Offside, The Guardian and CBS Sports.
As of Sunday, July 18, Romano had 9.9 million followers on Twitter and 7.4 million followers on his Facebook page. Although the Italian has uploaded just 418 videos on YouTube, more than 1.14 million users have subscribed to his YouTube channel.
