The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and Okutoyi will be seeking to register an impressive result in her last junior outing because from next year she will transition to the senior category.

Should Okutoyi make it all the way to the final and emerge the winner, she will not receive any cash because junior athletes are not eligible to receive prize money at Grand Slams tournaments.

However, Angella's junior international ranking will improve and thus make it easier for her to participate in future tournaments.

Okutoyi, a former Mbagathi Primary School student is fresh from winning the girls doubles at the just concluded J1 Repentigny tennis tournament staged at Laroche Park, in Ottawa, Canada.

Okutoyi  and her partner Malwina Rowinska of Poland had to come back from behind to beat Amelia Waligora and Ella Seidel 2-1 (3-6, 6-2, 10-8) to bag consecutive doubles titles.
