Kenya's marathon star, Mary Keitany, was inducted into the New York Road Runners Hall of Fame.
Keitany, who is a four-time TCS New York City Marathon champion, will be recognized at the NYRR Night of Champions on Friday, November 4.
The veteran athlete won three of the four races consecutively from 2014 to 2016.
NYRR Hall of Fame was established in 2011 to honour legendary figures in the sport of road running who have made NYRR and the TCS New York City Marathon.

“Mary, with four TCS New York City Marathon titles to her name, is one of the most decorated female distance runners in history who has continued to serve as a role model for women and mothers everywhere," Kerin Hempel, CEO of New York Road Runners noted.
Keitany is the current world record-holder in a women-only marathon, having won the 2017 London Marathon in a time of 2:17:01.
The 40-year-old announced her retirement from elite running on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, after a stellar career.
She will join other Kenyans, including Paul Tergat, Tegla Lorupe and Marget Okayo, in the hall of fame.
Keitany, while accepting the induction, noted that the TCS New York City Marathon is a major highlight in her racing calendar.
“I am honored to be chosen for the NYRR Hall of Fame. I would not be where I am today without the support of New York Road Runners and all those New Yorkers who lined the streets to cheer me on for so many years.” Keitany noted.
