With the win against Uganda, the Lionesses continue their historic journey as pool winners and hence qualify for the 2023 Rugby Africa Women's Cup.

The tournament is the first phase of the Rugby Women's 15s World Cup Qualifiers for Africa, where 12 teams were split into four pools playing a single round-robin tournament.

Lionesses dominated territory and possession, leading the Lady Cranes at halftime courtesy of Ann Goretti's try and penalty.

Seven minutes into the second half, the Lionesses stretched the lead thanks to Grace Adhiambo’s drop goal to make the scores 11-0.

The Lionesses were penalised in their 22 at minute 50, with the Lady Cranes having a successful goal attempt by Charlotte Mudoola, putting the scores at 11-3.

62 minutes into the game Christabel Lindo took advantage of a gap set by the Ugandans to score at the corner, making Kenya second and putting them 13 points clear.

Kenya further extended their lead with a 79-minute try from Rose Otieno, Lionesess' third try, with Goretti scoring the conversion ending the game 23-3.

Only pool winners will advance to the next round of qualifiers, which will be held in 2023.

Kenya defeated Zambia 36-17 in their early match on Saturday, October 30, improving the country's ranking to 27 from 30.
