“We are seeking your help on this matter and we are hoping that you can help us in this time of need. Any financial assistance will be highly appreciated,” read part of the statement from the poster.
Ezra passed away on Sunday, October 22, aged 25, after being involved in a road accident on Monday, October 16.
The son of the late Rose and William Cherono was a nursing student at Goshen College.
Kogei, who attended Marakwet High School, had joined the higher learning institution a few months ago from Liberty University.
Liberty University is located in the state of Virginia, Southern part of the United States.
Kipruto's coach Rustin Nyce described the fallen runner as a joyful person who got along with everyone at the learning institution.
"He quickly became an integral member of our cross country team and campus. He expressed a desire to be seen as the person he was. He was a wonderful storyteller, easy to get along with and had an infectious smile.
"Ezra loved being at Goshen and mentioned often that he was so thankful for his new community. He ran with his friends, engaged in deeply meaningful conversations and was quick to accept any meal invitation that came his way," stated Nyce.
For those who are willing to help the family, they can visit social media platforms where they will find details on how they can make their contributions.
