The Kenya Simbas arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for their final attempt at qualifying for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Simba missed out on a direct chance to the 2023 Rugby World Cup tournament in France after finishing second at the Rugby Africa Cup in July 2022.

Kenya lost 36-0 to the Namibians, who continued with their unbeaten run against Simba since 2014. The win ensured Namibia qualified for the 2023 World Cup.

Simba team captain Daniel Sikuta is making his fifth appearance in Dubai, having been there with the sevens team.

The skipper has assured the fans that the team would do its best to try to qualify for Rugby World Cup 2023.

“We will treat every game as a final but the first challenge is the USA. We need to be a team, in control, and take every opportunity at every minute, every second and see what happens after 80 minutes,” Daniel Sikuta noted.

He noted that this being Kenya's second opportunity to qualify, the team will stick to the plans set during their training sessions.

The team will kick off its campaign with a match against the USA at 3:00 pm East African Time on Sunday, November 6.

Their other two fixtures will be against Portugal and Hing Kong on November 11 and November 18, respectively.
