
Sports Cabinet Secretary, Ababu Namwamba, on Wednesday, November 16, met Africa's fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala.
According to the Ministry of Sports, both Namwamba and Omanyala deliberated on various issues around athletics sprints in Kenya.
Speaking to Teamkenya.co.ke the athlete noted that the meeting was a courtesy call, and the CS pledged to support his Olympics journey.

“It was a courtesy call, and he pledged to support my 2024 hunt for the gold journey,” Omanyala told Teamkenya.co.ke.
Omanyala, however, was reluctant to give further details adding that he would disclose more when Namwamba acts on the promises.
The 26-year-old Kenyan sprinter heaped praise on the new Sports CS, assuring sports enthusiasts that Ababu had the right strategies and agenda to revamp the sector.
“He is a very good CS, ready to listen to us. I am 100 percent sure he will be a blessing to athletics and sports at large,” Omanyala added.
The athlete began his training for the new season three weeks ago. In the coming season, he plans to participate in more indoor races including the 60m races.
