Mwanja noted that the tournament will benefit the team as it precedes the African qualifiers for the 2024 Olympics.
He further insisted that the tournament presented a perfect opportunity for the Kenyan team, comprised of young players, to learn and gain more skills.
The former Shujaa captain announced that Stella Wafula would miss the trip to Dubai due to an injury she sustained during the Rugby Africa tournament in Uganda.
The coach added that he chose to exclude her from the squad to allow her to recover in order to feature in other future games.
The Lionesses will be facing the French Development team, who defeated them in the final of the 2019 event.
According to Mwanja the goal for his side was to reach the same level as the French side.
Judith Okumu will captain the side during the Dubai tournament.
Lionesses squad: Judith Akumu, Grace Okulu, Terry Ayesa, Sinaida Mokaya, Phoebe Akinyi, Sharon Auma, Naomi Amuguni, Leah Wambui, Jean Bisela, Diana Kemunto, Christabel Lindo, Ann Goretti
