Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte revealed what task he was given when appointed in November 2021.

According to renowned sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Italian Manager is not under any obligation to win the Premier League.

Conte, in his statement, noted that he can leave the London club at his own liking.

“My task here is to build a solid project for Tottenham, not to win the league. Then if I’m satisfied to continue to do this work and to one day see the result, I will continue to stay”.

“If I'm not 100 percent convinced, then I can leave my work here,” Conte noted.

Spurs had an excellent start to the season. However, lack of consistency has led to the team dropping out of the top four.

Since he arrived at Spurs, Conte has been non-committal over his future at the club.

Conte's contract ends in June 2023, with an option to extend for a year.

Tottenham will take on Crystal Palace on Wednesday, January 2023, at Selhurst Park Stadium.
