Arsenal has been fined £40,000 (Ksh6.1 million) by the Football Association (FA) for failing to control their players in their FA Cup third-round match with Oxford.
In a statement released by the FA Spokesperson on Thursday, January 19, Arsenal players were accused of surrounding referee David Coote after he declined to award a decision in favour of them.
The FA issued made Arsenal aware of these charges on January 12, 2023, where the FA noted that the Gunners had breached rule E20.1 during their match against Oxford in the FA Cup on Monday, January 9.

"Arsenal FC has been fined £40,000 after its players surrounded a match official during the FA Cup tie against Oxford United FC on Monday, 9 January 2023.
"Arsenal FC denied an allegation from the FA that the club had failed to ensure its players conducted themselves orderly during the 34th minute. The club also requested a hearing.
"An Independent Regulatory Commission subsequently upheld the allegation and imposed the club's fine. Its written reason for this will be published in due course," the statement read.
In that match, Arsenal won 3-0, advancing to the fourth round, where the team will face Manchester City.
This fine comes days before the Gunner's Premier League match against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, November 22.
Arsenal was charged with a similar offence following their Premier League match against Newcastle on January 3.
The Gunners top the Premier League table with 47 points, five points ahead of defending champions Manchester City.
