Football Kenya Federation (FKF) acting President Doris Petra has challenged more women coaches to take up coaching courses offered by the federation and earn their badges.
Petra was talking on Friday, January 20, during the closing ceremony of the recent CAF D-level course.
At the ceremony, more than 200 coaches across the country graduated.

She noted that if the country was to declare itself ready to host the World Cup, the capacity training needed to improve up to four times.
Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, since assuming office, has been keen on the country playing at the World Cup in 2023.
"We have now trained 5,400 coaches at this level but the truth is not enough, to become World Cup ready, we need about four times this number," she noted.
Petra highlighted that there was a need for the federation to build capacity on the coaching front.
“These courses are not just for men. Women’s football is a priority for us; we need to build a stable of women coaches to work with our girls to grow the women’s game which has immense potential," Petra noted.
Only a few women were part of the training, with an area like Nairobi West registering five women out of 61 participants.
In the coaching course levels, the CAF D training is the entry-level coaching qualification recognised by CAF.
