Ugandan law enforcement officers arrested 20 Arsenal fans for engaging in a trophy parade after their side’s 3-2 win over rivals Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday night, January 22.
The fans took part in a trophy parade on Monday morning across the streets of Jinja. They were in a convoy of about five vehicles as they drove around the City.
In a video that went viral online, one of the fans dressed in the popular red and white home jersey of the league leaders could be seen lifting a replica of the English Premier League (EPL) trophy aboard a Harrier.

According to the Daily Monitor, Maurice Niyonzima, the officer commanding Jinja Police Station refused to comment on the arrest of the Gunners supporters.
On the other hand, one of the fans who was arrested, narrated how they were apprehended by the officers.
He stated that a police vehicle pulled in front of their convoy and asked each of them to alight from the cars.
They were then ordered to board a patrol vehicle and taken to Jinja Police Station.
"I don’t know what we have done but we were simply celebrating our victory over rivals Manchester United," the fan narrated.
Arsenal’s win came in 90th-minute courtesy of Hale End academy product Eddie Nketiah.
The multiple EPL champions had fallen behind in the first half thanks to Marcus Rashford’s sublime strike.
However, Nketiah, a 23-year-old forward with Ghanian roots, leveled the scores after ending in Granit Xhaka’s fantastic cross.
Bukayo Saka put Arsenal ahead a few minutes from the start of the second half.
However, the lead only lasted for a few minutes since Argentine international Lisandro Martinez equalized for United a few minutes later.
The win ensured the North London-based side maintain their five points at the top of the 2022/2023 EPL standings.
The Mikel Arteta-coached side has accumulated 50 points in 19 games.
