The 27-year-old 100m athlete is studying pure chemistry at the University of Nairobi.
“I am going back to school this month (January) as I had differed. We have an agreement with the university that I can go to class when I'm not busy.
“For practical, basically the most important part of the course, we will be making arrangements with the respective lectures to come in when both parties have time. Do the practicals, write the reports, and then that's done.
“Now that I am in the police attached to the DCI, I think sometime later I will go into forensics into a lab somewhere to practice Chemistry,” Omanyala stated.
He also shed light on his training to join the police and how the experience was, disclosing he only did a month in Kiganjo.
“People say I trained online for the police, I went for training, I was in Kiganjo. We wake up at 2 am for a long run for two hours before going back to have breakfast and then a parade.
“I went there in October 2022, thank God one of my great friend, Shikanga was there for me. He welcomed me, brushed my shoes, washed my clothes and I did not queue during supper,” Omanyala added.
Omanayala graduated as police during the pass-out parade in Nyeri, on January 11, 2023, in an event graced by President William Ruto.
