The interview was held at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi and was a follow-up story given that the journalist had interviewed the athlete in 2022 after his suspension.

AIU confirmed that Otieno used a contaminated substance, however, it was not intentional.

In the interview, Radull pointed out the importance of listening to an athlete's side before making any judgement.

‘2022 was so bad that Kenya was at risk of getting an international suspension from athletics.

“Your case has proven that we need to think again and stop condemning our athletes and telling them that they are all doping,” Radull commented.

In her new role, Radull was tasked with pushing for sports reforms and advising the government on plans to upgrade sporting facilities across Kenya.

The journalist is known for being vocal on sports issues in the nation dedicating her career to highlighting concerns within the sector.
