
Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has hinted that the government's inaugural TalantaHela may soon become an African project.
The Sports CS was speaking during the Young Africa Leadership Initiative (YALI) Cohort 47 ceremony at the YALI East African Regional Leadership Centre, Kenyatta University, Nairobi.
“Our TalantaHela project will serve as a pilot, not just for Kenya, but for the continent at large, on the process of democratising talent identification and the journey of converting talent into sustainable livelihoods with its value lying in the originality of the creation," Namwamba stated.

In a past meeting, the CS highlighted that the National Government will work with County Governments to invest heavily in youth football through the bottom-up football tournament.
The bottom-up football tournament is to be contested by under-19 teams from all 47 Counties.
Namwamba also talked about the revolution in sports with the introduction of eSports gaming.
He added that with the technology available people are able to work and collaborate without borders.
"These are the new frontiers that have the potential to impact the continent’s growth while exporting our culture and art to the world," Namwamba added.
Namwamba also added that his ministry was making efforts in positioning talent as a key economic driver in the country.
He also highlighted that the project was highlighted in President William Ruto’s Government's manifesto, through the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
