Otieno earned the nickname "Ndege" during that epic match which was made special by the presence of a white dove that landed in the middle of the pitch during the halftime break.

The dove which was associated with witchcraft by Ingwe fans, nearly caused the two sets of fans to exchange blows until it was seized by law enforcement officers.

William "Chege" Ouma was the first player to find the back of the net in the Mashemeji Derby. He did so in 1968, helping Gor beat Ingwe 1-0 in a clash which was staged at the Nairobi City Stadium.

The only player to Score a brace twice

Former Gor Mahia forward Dan Sserunkuma is the only player who has scored more than two goals twice in the history of Mashemeji Derby.

The Uganda international achieved the incredible feat in 2012 and 2014.
