
The national sevens rugby teams , Lioness and Shujaa, had mixed results at the just ended Emirates Invitational 7s tournament.
In the first day of the Emirates Invitational 7s The Kenya Lionesses Lionesses recorded a 19- 14 loss to Japan.
The Lionesses started on a low note after they trailed 14-0 at halftime before skipper Philadelphia Orlando and Janet Okello left their marks on the scoresheet making it level. The Japanese got their last try that kept them ahead of the Kenyans till the final whistle.
The last two matches of the day saw the Lionesses stretch their losing streak Against Canada where they lost 5-38 and 7-46 against USA.

Canada 38 – Lionesses 5
USA 46 – Lionesses 7
The men's side on the other hand recorded both a win ,a loss and a draw in the day 1 of the Emirates Invitational 7s.
Shujaa kicked off their first match against Chile, winning 39-7 against the South American side. They went ahead and recorded a 19-19 draw against France in their second clash of the day . On their last game of day 1 Shujaa lost narrowly against Spain in a one point difference match that ended 14 -15 in favour of Spain.

The Emirates Invitational 7s tournament was set by World Rugby to prepare the various teams ahead of the Olympic to be held in Tokyo from July 23.
