Kenya Cup

The Final of the 2021 Kenya Cup has been set and it will feature familiar teams, Kabras Sugar and KCB. The two rugby giants will meet in the final for a 9th time after emerging victorious in their semi final fixtures on Saturday 28 August 2021. Kabras and KCB met in 2015,2017,2018 and 2019, KCB winning all finals. Defending champions, KCB went past Menengai Oilers in the semis, 35-17 to secure their final slot. Jacob Ojee landed a brace with Darwin Mukidza converting to give the bankers the advantage heading into the interval.

Mukidza drilled home a penalty after the restart as KCB went 17-0 up before the Oilers responded with a try from Tyson Maina, Austin Sikutwa converting for a 17-7 score. Ojee then landed his hat trick, Mukidza missing the conversion before Oilers responded with a Sikutwa penalty to bring the score to 22-10.

Mukidza then drilled home two penalties as KCB went 28-10 before replacement scrum half Michael Wanjala picked the ball from the base of the scrum, leaving the Oilers backrow flat footed as he raced clear to score under the posts, Shaban Ahmed sure with the conversion as KCB lead 35-10.

On the other hand Kabras Sugar built on a 28-7 lead at the interval to stop visiting Strathmore Leos 36-19 at the Nandi Bears Club.
