Kabras Hoping for Revenge as they Tackle KCB in Kenya Cup Final

Kabras Sugar v KCB during a past match in the Kenya Cup Final

Kabras Sugar will face KCB in the Kenya Cup Final at 2:00 pm on Saturday September 4, at the Nandi Bears Club.

The two clubs will renew their rivalries for the fourth consecutive time with the Bankers seeking to exert their dominance in the Kenya Cup final after completing a hat-trick of titles against Kabras Sugar from 2017 to 2019 with the 2020 season cancelled due to the pandemic.

However, in the recent two matches, Kabras won against the defending champions, making them come into Saturday’s clash with the upper hand against the Bankers.

On November 29, 2019 and August 7, 2021 Kabras  defeated KCB 19-6 and 30-23 respectively.

KCB’s head coach, Curtis Olago, termed the upcoming clash as ‘war’. This is after his team thrashed Menengai Oilers 35-17. Olago revealed that he would have to sit down with his technical bench to prepare for the final.

“We have been planning for it (the final), but we will continue to plan with the technical bench on Sunday and Monday and do the final preparations in terms of planning,”

“There is no celebration after the semi finals victory, there is still a war to come, we have just won a battle, but there is still a war to come,” said Olago.

In the final, if Kabras manage to beat the defending champions, then this would be their first time to capture the title.
