Tusker FC Management Calms Slight Tension On Cash Prize Disbursement

Tusker FC chairman Daniel Aduda has said that the club will distribute cash bonuses owed to the triumphant squad by the end of the week amid tension over the delay in the disbursement. 

Tension has been growing amongst a section of the playing unit  but Aduda has moved swiftly to clear any claims boiling around the current FKF Premier League Champions.

Aduda said that they received the cash prize and proceedings on Wednesday and were going to distribute the cash to all who participated in the just ended campaign.

"We just received the cash prize yesterday (Wednesday)and we are currently planning on how disbursement will proceed in the coming days. As you know the players are currently putting work in the CAF Champions League and I have already informed them of their dues. Everyone involved in with Tusker FC during the just concluded season will certainly receive their dues and any rumors about a growing tension should be dropped and regarded as rumors," said Aduda.

There was an uproar over the delay of the cash with some of the members of the playing unit claiming that they had not received anything yet despite their pleas to the management.

A member of the playing unit who sought anonymity had disclosed to TeamKenya that they were had not received any amount from the team and feared that they might be victimised if they asked for what is rightfully theirs.

"We won the league and the prize money was five million shillings. The company (Kenya Breweries) added two million shillings on top. The office(Tusker FC management) said that they were taking 2.5 million shillings  and give us 4.5 million shillings to distribute amongst ourselves. Ever since, we have just been taken round circles," claimed the player.

"We players fear asking for the cash openly for fear of victimization," he added.

Tusker FC CEO, Charles Obiny also moved swiftly to clarified on the matter saying that the team would certainly receive their dues. 

"I'm sorry but I'm not aware of any tensions arising from the club and don't think there really is any, for the Disbursement of the cash prize, that is being handled and anything else can be clarified by the chairman, the players however will certainly receive what belongs to them," said Obiny.

The Brewers finished the league with 65 points, winning 19 games with 8 draws and 5 losses; a performance that saw them deservedly win the title and a cash prize of Ksh 5 Million. As motivation, the team also received a bonus of two million shillings (18,200 U.S. dollars) from their sponsors for winning the title and ending Gor's stranglehold on the KPL trophy.

Head Coach Matano is now focused on the CAF Champions League where by the Squad traveled to Djibouti and managed a decent first game, settling for a 1-1 draw with Djibouti’s Arta Solar 7 in their opener match. Tusker will yet again face Arta in a return leg on 18th September in Nairobi. 

"I got what belongs to me and was highly grateful, For the team I think management can deal with that since for now Im not aware of any rising turmoil. Right now I'm focused on the CAF fixtures as we move forward," the experienced tactician told TeamKenya

Tusker is returning to continental football for the first time since 2012, having deposed Gor Mahia as league champions at the end of the just-concluded domestic season.

If Tusker get past Arta Solar, they will book a date with Zamalek in the next round of the CAF Champions League qualifiers in mid-October.
