Football Kenya  Premier league side Wazito Fc has been slapped with a 3 window transfer ban by FIFA after the club failed to pay its two former players' dues.

Back in October last year Fifa Courts ruled in favour of former Wazito FC players Ghanaian forward Paul Acquah, Togolese defender Issofou Bourhana, Ugandan midfielder Mansoor Safi Agu, Liberian Augustine Otu, and DR Congo forward Piscas Muhindo were dismissed and deserved compensation from the club.

Wazito FC were ordered to compensate these players in excess of Ksh 6 million for breach of contract and dismissal from the club without compensation. The club therefore failed to adhere to the given orders and has pushed FIFA to the walls of imposing harsh consequences to the Kenyan Club.

After the dismissed players took legal action against the club ,the 2018/2019 National Super league champions were then given adequate time of 45 days to settle the players dues or face the repercussions. Out of all five players that were sacked by the club only 2 never received their dues as per the orders issued by Fifa's Dispute Resolution Chambers back in October 2020.

The two players in the middle of all these are Ghanaian Paul Acquah and Ugandan Mansoor Agu. The Ugandan is owed Ksh 1.698 million shillings by the club for breach of contract plus another Ksh 370,000 ksh outstanding remuneration. His Ghanian counterpart is owed Ksh 2.1 million shillings for breach of contract and an additional Ksh 150,000 ksh outstanding remuneration.

In this regard Fifa cracked the whip on the club and has banned Wazito FC from making any signings as from the next window transfer. This however will not be the first club having to face such harsh consequences from FIFA as former Premier league Champions Gor Mahia and their bitter rivals AFC Leopards have been in the limelight before for a similar case after failing to settle dues that they owed some of their former players.
