England Football manager Gareth Southgate has the England national team star players to conduct themselves in a more disciplined manner both on and off the pitch. This comes after several of his key players were involved in undisciplined issues in the recent past.

Southgate issued this warning ahead of the Euros 2020 in June as he was frustrated in dealing with a couple of cases that put into test the ability of his squad depth.

One of the cases that put the manager in the position of issuing out the warning was after the dependable center back Harry Maguire got arrested in Greece after being involved in a street scuffle while on holiday .

The other recent case that forced the manager to issue the warning on his star players involved Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden and Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood broke coronavirus protocols while on England duty in Iceland and were subsequently sent home.

With the delayed continental competitions head coach Southgate looks forward to putting the team in maximum focus while in the training camp with no off field dramas. If Southgate can ensure a trouble-free Euro 2020, he believes his 2018 World Cup semi-finalists have a shot at winning a major tournament for the first time since the 1966 World Cup.

The Three Lions are placed in a group D of the Continental fixtures with World cup finalists Croatia,Scotland and Czech Republic. The English side is also hoping to receive a big boost in their home fixtures as a significant number of fans will be allowed to the stadium but with the tight Covid 19 protocols in place.

This will require maximum performance and deliverance from the players and thus Gareth Southgate urging players to be well disciplined ahead of the task. Having players being suspended from the team during the camp for indiscipline issues off the field will mean that the team squad will be put to test and might not fully deliver before the home fans who are excited to be back at the stadium ever since the pandemic hit the sporting world.
