Former Harambee Stars midfielder Victor Wanyama has finally broken his silence on his new journey in the world of fatherhood. 

As reported earlier, media personality Sera Teshna welcomed a newborn a little over a month ago, but the news was only made public on Wednesday, October 20th. In a post on her Insta Stories, Teshna said the baby was 40 days old and she also shared a video of an intimate love moment with Wanyama. 

Days later and Wanyama himself has also taken to his social media to announce the birth of his child. “We are excited. Our long-cherished dream of parenthood has finally been fulfilled with the arrival of our precious little prince.God is great. Thank you all for the love and support we are grateful for,” the Montreal Impact midfielder said in his post:

He accompanied the post with a cute photo of the baby’s hands. Wanyama and Teshna have been together for years, but have somehow managed to keep their romance away from the curious eye of the public. Teshna, at some point, used to reside in the UK, when Wanyama was playing for North London outfit Tottenham Hotspur, and this led to mass speculation that the two might be an item. In 2019, Serah quit her job at K24 after having been in the station since 2017. The media personality who also doubles up as an actress. Despite their recent attempts to keep their relationship discreet, they have been spotted on several occasions hanging out in Nairobi whenever Wanyama is back in town. 

Wanyama currently plies his trade at Montreal Impact in the MLS, and is an integral part of his team. As a matter of fact, Montreal Impact also took to social media on Tuesday to congratulate their star midfielder for his bundle of joy. Victor Wanyama maintenant papa! Congrats to you & Serah Teshna for the beginning of this amazing journey.” The club shared on their official Twitter handle. 

News that Wanyama is a father for the first time comes only weeks after the Kenyan international called time on his international career. In his announcement, Wanyama, who was stripped of captaincy by Jacob Ghost Mulee, said he arrived at the decision to allow the next generation to flourish in the national team. “We have shared great moments together and I am proud to have been your captain and leader. But all good things must come to an end eventually; and after a long consideration, I have made the really difficult decision to retire from international football,” Wanyama said in his statement. He also hinted at possibly seeking a position at the federation once his career came to an end.
