Football Kenya Federation Premier League campaign continues as teams seek to finish what has been a tough year with many matches taking place on Thursday, December 30.

Gor Mahia Seek to Bounceback as They Face City Stars

Gor Mahia will be playing against seventh placed Nairobi City Stars in a Thursday afternoon league match set to be played at Nyayo National Stadium in the 2021/2022 Football Kenya Federation Premier League campaign when they.

The 19 time Kenyan champions have found themselves massively lacking in their last two league outings where a lack of incision in the final third has seen the Mark Harrison coached side collect only one point from the last six available.

Within that run, the team has also lost their unbeaten start to the season after Kakamega Homeboyz got the better of them in match day 9.

K’Ogalo will be looking to end the year on a high when they welcome Simba wa Nairobi at Nyayo and not Kasarani as was initially planned.

On the other hand, City Stars will be hoping to shake off their inconsistent tag that has slowly crept its way back to the team after losing twice, drawing twice and winning twice in their last six games.

In the match though, Gor hold a superior record in the head to head sector as from the previous 24 games, they have won 12 matches compared to City Stars’ four. The other eight have all been draws.

Tusker Seek to End Year on a High Note as They Face Mathare

Mathare have lost five out of their last six matches in the FKFPL

Mathare United will be facing it off with champions Tusker when the two teams clash on Thursday afternoon at Ruaraka grounds.

The slum boys have been reduced to punching bags recently, losing five out of their last six league matches, a run that has increasingly put them at the risk of spending the better part of the remainder of the season battling relegation.

With a win set to temporarily relieve the pressure of slumping deeper into the red zone, Mathare hopes to upset the champions and finish what has been a tough year with shoulders high.

Similarly, Tusker will also be hoping to redeem themselves from the 1-0 defeat suffered in the hands of Kakamega Homeboyz on the eve of Christmas and finish the year just a place outside the top ten bracket.

The brewers who recruited heavily in the last transfer window have been inconsistent in the last eight matches they have played, losing half of them, winning three and sharing points once.

KCB Seek to Reduce Gap as They Face Struggling Nzoia

Second placed KCB will be seeking to move to a point within the reach of league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz when they play a struggling Nzoia Sugar in the final round of the year at Utalii grounds on Thursday.

The bankers have 21 points against their name and will look to inch closer to the summit by capitalizing on the visitors' stuttering form and register seventh win of the season.

KCB have won four out of its five matches and will look to pick from where they left and gather more steam in their quest for their maiden league crown.

While KCB will be gunning to draw closer to the top, Nzoia will be looking to put aside their struggles and bag their second win of the season.

The Bungoma based club will miss the services of their head coach Ibrahim Shikanda who threw in the towel on Wednesday and will further have to do without three players who are down with illness.
