
The Kenya sevens head coach Innocent 'Namcos' Simiyu says the bubble training camp at Moi International Stadium Kasarani has been a success.
Simiyu has expressed his satisfaction with the teams preparation on the tasks ahead of them.'' The Camp has been really good and the boys are raising their hands in regards to the selection of the team that will be participating in Stellenbosch solidarity camp and we are quite happy with the players so far.'' Namcos said.
The team at the camp has so far had no injuries apart from key player Sammy Oliech who sustained his injury at the Dubai Invitational 7s and is set to be out for a couple of months. The lethal fly half was however not part of the team that was at the bubble camp in Kasarani.
``We are lucky not to have any injuries so far and the boys are really pushing themselves ,we have had a few rugby knocks which we are monitoring that involve Daniel taabu and Alvine Otieno but the rest are fresh and fit to play."The tactician Said.
The team has been playing games while at the bubble training camp and will be expected to play another game on Saturday and from the game over the weekend the team to Stellenbosch Solidarity camp will be selected.The tactician emphasized that the team to South Africa will be selected based on match fitness and awareness of the game.
The rugby team will be expected to depart for South Africa next week as their Counterparts Kenya Lionesses will be heading to Tunisia.Both teams are highly preparing for the major event which is the Tokyo Olympic games in July and are taking preparations seriously in shaping up their skills and game plays which will be expected to be presented in Perfection at the summer olympic games.
The Kenya Sevens men's team will however be expected to take part in two more tournaments before the Olympics showdown.After the Stellenbosch Solidarity Camp in South Africa the Shujaa will depart to Los Angeles for another camp organised by the World Rugby.
