On December 9, 2016 Michael Olunga shot a video pleading with the then Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger to sign him.
Olunga at that time was 21 years old playing for Gor Mahia and had finished the league with 38 goals.
“Hi Arsene Wenger. I am Michael Olunga Ogada, I am a striker at Gor Mahia FC which is in Kenya. I am currently the best player in Kenya. I’ve scored 38 goals all season and my dream is to play for Arsenal.

“I am a young talent, 21 years of age. I hope you will consider my request to come there and maybe join your feeder team if not your senior team and in the next coming years I will be sure to repay your faith. Thanks for considering my option,” Olunga stated.
To date, Olunga has not had a chance to play for the Gunners though he has played in most European and Asian Leagues like in Sweden, China, Spain and Japan.
The Harambee Stars captain after asking the manager to sign him he penned a deal with Swedish side Djurgardens from Kenya's Gor Mahia, a year later.
In 2016, Olunga joined Djurgården before moving to Chinese club Guizhou Zhicheng in 2017 and later went to Spanish side Girona on loan.
In 2018, he joined Japanese club Kashiwa Reysol until 2020, joining Qatar side Al-Duhail where he earns around Ksh60 million a month.
The prolific striker is showing his prowess as he leads the tally of top scorer with 24 goals.
