In the football world, stadium design and locations are often talked about. Some stadiums are either relocated, upgraded, or are fitted with state of the art facilities to modernise them.

All this is done in order to attract more fans, increase the revenue in ticket purchase or also to boost tourism in the specific location. In the long run, this also helps to boost economic growth.

The construction of stadiums usually gobbles millions or to some extent even billions as it starts from a concept to a complete project.

In Norway there is a football stadium known as Henningsvær Stadium that was built on one of their fishing villages in the Lofoten Islands.

Henningsvær stadium has often been referred to as one of the most beautiful football stadiums in the world, because of its eye-catching architectural design that makes it stand out of the pack.

The football pitch is built on an Island and is surrounded by sea and it is connected to the main island by a bridge built in 1983.

The construction of the football field was created after they levelled the solid bedrock with a synthetic mantle.

To prevent the ball from ending up in the water during a match they opted to construct large racks around the pitch, which also gives the facility a spectacular view.

For fans and guests who visit the facility driving, the pitch is a car park. The stadium can accommodate around 500 people to watch a match.

Due to the lack of a fans' stand, the stadium only hosts amateur teams. The pitch has become a tourist attraction due to its beautiful scenery with people often going to take photos.

The pitch is used almost 24 hours a day mainly during summer but it's also fitted with floodlights to facilitate night matches.
