The UEFA rules stipulate that a suspended manager will not be allowed in the dressing room, tunnel or technical area before and during the match.

The manager is also not allowed to get into contact with the team. However, this was not the case for the outspoken football manager, Jose Mourinho.

It took Mourinho about 14 years to come out and reveal that he his inside a laundry basket to address his team during a Champions League quarter final match.

Mourinho had been handed a two-match touchline ban by UEFA after he claimed then Barcelona FC coach, Frank Rijkaard, went into referee Andres Frisk's dressing room at half-time of Chelsea's 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in their round of 16 first leg fixture.

Mourinho’s Chelsea was to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter finals when he had to take refuge in the laundry basket, with the celebrated manager noting that the kit man helped him manoeuvre around without being identified.

"I went to the dressing room during the day, so I was there from midday and the game was seven o'clock. I just want to be in the dressing room when the players arrive.

"When I entered, nobody saw me. The problem came when I was to leave and Stewart Bannister, the kit man, put me in the basket. It was a little bit open so I could breathe.

"But when he was taking it outside the dressing room, the UEFA guys were following and desperate to find me so he closed the box and I couldn't breathe. When he opened the box, I was almost dying. I am serious, I was claustrophobic, I promise it is true, " narrated Mourinho.

The Mourinho-led side went on to win the match with a 4-2 resounding victory at Stamford Bridge, progressing to the semis.

However, the Blues were knocked out of the tournament in the semi finals by Premier League giants Liverpool.
