
Kenya is renowned for great athletes who have broken and set world records.
Other than running and setting the pace for other athletes, a number of these stars also run training camps that have attracted the world's greatest.
TeamKenya looks at some of the camps established by former athletes who seek to help others grow in the sport.

Lornah Kiplagat's High Altitude Training Centre
The High-altitude training centre was founded by multiple world champion Lornah Kiplagat.
Established over 20 years ago, it has risen from a small camp in the village to a global force in athletics.
The camp has hosted star athletes such as marathon legend Paula Radcliffe and four-time Olympic gold medalist Mo Farah.
Kiplagat had three World Half Marathon Championship Gold medals and one World Cross Country Championship Gold medal when she was retired.
Kipkeino High Performance Training Centre
The training centre is located outside Eldoret within several hundred acres of farmland owned by Kipchoge Keino.
The centre was opened in 2002 and is home to some of the most promising athletes in Kenya.
Keino is currently the Chairman of the Kenyan Olympic Committee (KOC) and a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Before he hang his boots the 82-year-old had won two Olympic Games Gold medals among other trophies.
Lemotit Athletics Camp
Located in Londiani, Kericho County the Lemotit Athletics camp was founded by former Paralympian Paul Kemei.
The camp has hosted some of the renowned athletes like the World Junior Cross Country champion Beatrice Chebet, Sandrafelis Chebet and Emily Chebet, among others who have risen through the ranks.
Kapchemoiywo training camp
The training camp was set up by Janeth Jepkosgei in her Nandi County backyard.
In 2021 the camp was selected by Athletics Kenya (AK) to serve as one of the 14 countrywide camps set up for the World Under-20 Championships prospects.
Janeth had many accolades in her name during her running days as he was an Olympic Games Silver medalist, World Championships Gold medalist and World Athletics Final Gold medalist among others.
