After months of investigations, Formula 1's governing body has revealed that a human error was responsible for the incorrect application of rules in the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
FIA confirmed several measures that have been put in place to avoid such errors from recurring.
The race will adopt a similar approach to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), establishing a remote operations centre at the FIA headquarters in Geneva to assist in race controls.
There will also be an extended team in race control to run the trackside operations.
FIA announced that direct communications from teams to the race director should be removed to protect the race director from any pressure and allow him to make decisions without pressure.
Also, the un-lapping procedures behind the safety car will be reassessed.
Niels Wittich and Eduardo Freitas will be the new race managers and will be assisted by former deputy race director, Herbie Blash, who has returned to FIA employment after retiring in 2016.
