Known for its fast and expensive cars Formula 1 has produced some of the most incredible machines with the sport being in existence for almost 70 years.
These cars cost a fortune during assembling and manufacturing.
TeamKenya takes a look at some of the most expensive Formula 1 cars to be ever sold in history.

1. 1954 Mercedes W196R
This was the car that was used by Juan Manuel Fangio when he won his second title in the Formula 1 championship
The car is not only the most expensive car to be built but also the most expensive car to be sold at a cost of Ksh2.9 billion (£19.6m) in 2013.
2. 2001 Ferrari F2001
Legendary Formula 1 driver, Michael-Schumacher used the car to win at the 2001 Monaco and Hungary Grands Prix.
It was sold at around Ksh833 million (£5.5m) in 2017.
3. 2002 Ferrari F2002
Schumacher also used this car to win various Grand Prix events.
The car which was victorious in San Marino, Austria, France and Hungary was sold for around Ksh757 million (£5m) in 2019.
4. 2010 McLaren MP4-25A
This is the car that was used by decorated Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton.
Hamilton won with the car the 2010 Turkish GP and was later sold in 2021 at a cost of Ksh727 million (£4.8m).
5.1993 McLaren MP4/8A
Ayrton Senna used this ride to secure his record sixth and final Monaco Grand Prix victory.
The car was sold at a price of Ksh545 million (£3.6m) in 2018 after 25 years since its famous victory in Monaco.
