Ukrainians on Monday, March 21 tried to stop Chelsea Football Club billionaire owner Roman Abramovich’s multi million yacht from docking in Turkey.

The group was seen in a small boat carrying Ukraine’s National flag with the word ‘No War’ and were protesting against the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Authorities however moved in to contain the situation by dispersing the protesters  and allowing the yacht to dock safely.

The luxury yacht known as the Solaris docked at the southern port in Turkey - a country that is yet to join in imposing sanctions on Russian government.

The UK and the EU slapped the Chelsea owner with heavy sanctions for his relationship with Russian president Vladmir Putin.

It was not immediately established whether the Russian tycoon was aboard the yacht and why it was docking in Turkey.

Abramovic's assets are among other targeted properties that are being impounded by the Western nations as part of efforts to mount pressure on Moscow to stop the invasion.

The 55-year-old billionaire is currently in the process of selling Chelsea but he suffered a huge blow following the sanctions by the British government.

The sanctions also saw the club get a special football license allowing them to play games, but cannot generate any revenue.

It is expected the club will be sold in the coming months with a shortlist of interested bidders being expected to be announced soon.
