Former England soccer star David Beckham handed over on Sunday, March 20 his Instagram account with over 71 million followers to a doctor helping women give birth in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.
The 46-year-old co-owner of the American Major League Soccer team Inter Miami took to his Instagram and asked his followers to have a look at his stories in order to learn more about Iryna's charity.
Iryna is a pediatric anesthesiologist working with her co-health workers to save lives amid the recent conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Beckham showed his goodwill by asking his followers to contribute to the United Nations children's agency UNICEF whatever they could afford.

"Please continue to support these incredible people in any way that you can. Together we can really make a difference," Beckham urged.
Kharkiv was hit by overwhelming Russian strikes that have destroyed many buildings since Moscow launched the "special operation" in Ukraine last month.
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously said that the operation was aimed at disarming Ukraine and rooting out dangerous people.
In a video posted by Iryna, the head of the Regional Perinatal Centre said pregnant women and mothers were evacuated on the first day of Russia's invasion. She as well shared images of newborn babies dependent on oxygen generators, which she pointed out as donations by UNICEF.
"The first days were the most difficult. We had to learn how to work with bombings and strikes. We are probably risking our lives, but we don't think about it at all. We love our work," she encouraged.
In one of Irina's videos, a woman called Yana was seen holding her baby son, who was born with breathing problems on the second day of the war. Iryna noted that the baby was doing better even when the family's home was destroyed.
Iryna affirmed her assurance of never giving up in her field of work even with all the hardships it comes with.
"Doctors and nurses here, we worry, we cry, but none of us will give up," Iryna added.
