
Willy Ambaka, Dennis Ombachi and Andrew Amonde will not travel to South Africa with the Kenya Sevens rugby team for the upcoming assignment at the Rugby Africa Solidarity training camp.
Collins Injera however makes a comeback to the team named by boss Innocent Simiyu announced on Tuesday.
KCB’s flanker Levy Amunga also makes a comeback to the squad which will head down to South Africa on Thursday morning for the ten-day Stellenbosch Solidarity Camp. The Kenya Sevens team will face South Africa, Uganda, and Zimbabwe on the 8th/9th and 14th/15th May and return on 16th May.
“We’re very happy with the progress seen in the team’s performance and we’re also at a stage where we need to expose more players and do more rotation so that we ensure we have an on-form team as we head out for the Olympic games,” said Simiyu after naming the squad.
The camp is aimed at assisting teams that have already qualified for the Olympics and Olympics repechage in their preparations for the event later this year in Tokyo.
