Gor Mahia, through Secretary-General Sam Ochola, have announced that the match between them and AFC Leopards will be taking place at the Kasarani Stadium.

The match is considered a derby in the FKF Premier League and is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 8.

Gor Mahia was banned from using both the Nyayo stadium and Kasarani Stadium in March after fans were accused of vandalism.

In a notice dated May 4, the club notified their fanbase that the Mashemeji Derby would be taking place at the Kasarani Stadium

“Gor Mahia FC is proud to inform the general public and K'ogallo fans in particular that our match against AFC Leopards will be played at Kasarani stadium on May 8, 2022.

“Gor Mahia FC EC appeals to our fans around the country to come out in large numbers and support our team on this particular match,” part of the statement read.

Tickets to the match have also been announced to be on sale with charges varying from 200 for regular tickets and 500 for VIP.

“Tickets available on Sunday Matchday from 7 am to 2 pm,” the notice read.

The fracas that led to Gor changing the venue from the Kasarani Stadium was between Gor and Vihiga bullets. It left three people injured.

During that time the Gor Mahia Secretary-General confirmed that the club would be playing its home matches in Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, Moi Stadium in Kisumu or in Narok stadium.
