The 57-year-old lamented that he was tired of sending condolences to affected families ahead of his team's fourth game against the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Western Conference Final.
"We had Asian churchgoers killed in southern California. Now we have children murdered at school. When are we going to do something? I'm tired. I'm so tired of getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated families that are out there. I'm so tired of the -- I'm sorry. I'm tired of the moments of silence. Enough."
"We are going to play the game tonight. But I want every person here, every person listening to this, to think about your own child or grandchild, mother or father, sister, brother. How would you feel if this happened to you today?" he posed to journalists.
Shootings are personal to Kerr who lost his father Professor Malcolm Kerr to a terrorist shooting incident in Lebanon where the celebrated coach was born.
Golden State warriors basketballer Stephen Curry also condemned the incident consoling the affected parents and families.
"I have got kids, send them to school every day, drop them off, and you feel for the parents that are going through what they're going through. I can't even imagine the pain".
"For the coach to come up here and say what he said - every word that he said was powerful, was meaningful. I accept that challenge to try to use my voice and platform to help hopefully make change" stated the only NBA player to scoop the Most Valuable Player MVP unanimously.
The suspect behind the shooting is an 18-year-old high school student Salvador Ramos, who has also been confirmed dead.
