The National Women football team, Harambee Starlets, will know their opponents for the Total Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifiers on Monday in a draw to be conducted at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

Harambee Starlets  will be seeking to qualify for the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations, which will also act as a qualifier for the 2023 World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand.

Finalists and semi finalists in the AWCON tournament obtain direct slots allocated for Africa at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Australia and New Zealand will host the ninth edition of the competition.

Starlets who are under the tutelage of new coach Charles Okere received the vaccination ahead of the AWCON qualifiers that are scheduled to start in June 2021. They are expected to hit camp in the next two weeks to prepare for the continental assignments.
