The 32-year-old is based in the United States and will be joining other seven athletes to represent Kenya in the Commonwealth games.

She is the current Kenyan record holder in the Women’s hammer throw a feat she achieved in May 2010.

Aside from athletics Oseso has nine years of experience in the health sector having been a project manager, coordinator, mixed methods researcher and Community-Based Participatory Researcher (CBPR) in HIV/STI research.

The four-time former national hammer throw champion has been given the role of the overall deputy captain for Team Kenya.

The last time she was in Kenya was for the trials in the 2014 Commonwealth games in Glasgow.

During an interview at the Kasarani Stadium, Oseso noted that she never fancied harmer throwing before until her USA coach motivated her to venture into the sport.

“Because of the long injury layoff, a friend of mine asked me if I was interested in doing track and field as basketball is a winter sport. I said yes.
