Shujaa head coach, Damian McGrath, has made two changes as the team heads to Los Angeles HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
Shujaa are in Pool D and will begin their campaign in LA against Samoa on Saturday, August 27. In the same pool, they will play against England and Scotland.
The two new squad members are Jeff Oluoch and Samuel Oliech and will be replacing Levi Amunga and Herman Humwa.

In what will be Shujaa’s final outing of the 2022 World Rugby 7 Series, McGrath explained that the squad was chosen on the basis of players under contract.
"The side for LA was selected mainly on the contracted players. I've made two changes from the Commonwealth Games team simply to have a look at other players. So Sammy Oliech and Jeff Oluoch will come in.
“It's not a reflection on the guys who have been left out... it's just a chance for me to look at them because we are looking to change the senior squad group to bring in some younger players from the National Sevens Circuit," McGrath noted.
Shujaa's coach was keen to highlight that his team was in a ‘fairly tough’ pool adding that Samoa was the leading team in the group.
“We are in a fairly tough pool in LA, Samoa are the leading team in our group. They’ve been playing very very well this year…been based in Dubai since Christmas training, playing and preparing as a team… so they’ll offer a tough assignment for the first game,” McGrath added.
McGrath added that the team is confident of displaying some good performances in the World Series with hopes of improving their ranking.
