Seven times Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has summarised his holiday in Africa as a humbling experience.
Hamilton visited various countries in Africa such as Namibia, Rwanda and Kenya during the annual Formula 1 Summer break.
While speaking ahead of the Belgium Grand Prix, the Mercedes driver stated that he was impressed by the African culture.

“It was a very humbling experience just seeing people leave with literally nothing, to stay in a house made of sticks, literally twigs and no shoes no socks and going about their daily lives with no social media and not with the stuff that we all have in the western world.
"And it seemed they did not take anything for granted which was beautiful to see,” Hamilton stated.
Lewis revealed he planned the trip in advance as he was always caught up in the rush hours before.
“I am bad at planning things, I am always very last minute and one of my new year resolutions was to plan ahead. For the August summer break I had already planned it in February,’ Hamilton added.
The 37-year-old revealed that Africa was one destination he desired to visit for the longest time.
“Africa was a place I have wanted to go, I've been there before once. It’s the place I have wanted to go more than anywhere.
“I was able to travel to different places and it was incredible how welcoming everyone was. It was a very grounding experience to see the incredible landscapes in the different countries that we went to.
Formula 1 resumed from the break on August 26 in Belgium for the Rolex Belgian Grand Prix 2022.
