
Former Malkia Strikers skipper Dorcas Ndasaba has been nominated as a Member of the County Assembly (MCA) in Bungoma County.
Ndasaba was among ten individuals whose names were forwarded under the Forum for Restoration of Democracy - Kenya (FORD-K) party.
The former Sirakaru Secondary School student was nominated to represent the Naitiri/Kabuyefwe ward.

The 51-year-old is one of the players who featured for Malkia Strikers for a very long time. She started playing for the national team in the 1990s and retired in the late 2000s.
Dorcas was among the Kenyan squad that graced the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games staged in Australia and Greece respectively, helping the Kenyan Queens to register an eleventh-place finish on both occasions.
In 2007, Ndasaba helped Malkia Strikers to bag their 7th continental title at the African Women’s Volleyball Championships. She was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) during that tournament.
Ndasaba took part in five African Championships (2007, 2005, 1995,1997, and 1993) before she was axed from the national side in 2007, days before the team traveled for the World Cup staged in Japan.
Ndasaba who ventured into coaching after retiring also took part in the 1998 and 2002 World Championships.
Some of the clubs that the mother of one featured for during his playing days include Croatian-based side Rijeka Club and IshikawaJima Harima from Japan.
Malkia Strikers are set to feature in the 2022 FIVB World Championships scheduled to take place between September 15 and September 23 in Poland.
