
Three more Kenyans booked their sport in the semifinals on day three of the AFBC Men's and Women's African Boxing Championships 2022.
Boniface Mogunde defeated Somali’s Mohamed Abdullahi Ahmed in the 71kg men's fight to book a semi-final spot.

Other Kenyans who advanced to the semis include Elizabeth Andiego and Samuel Njau.
The trio joined Nicholas Okoth who was the first Kenyan to advance to the semis after he won his match against Jerry Ziggy from Mauritius in the men's 60kg fight.
The semifinal matches will be taking place on September 15, with three matches scheduled for the afternoon while one match will be in the evening.
Elizabeth Andiego will battle South Africa’s Makteko Sithole in the women's 81kg Heavy Weight bout.
Samuel Njau will be face off with Zambia’s Ben Banda in the men's Feather Weight (57kg) semifinal while Nicholas Okoth will fight Algeria’s Walid Tarzout in the men's Light Weight (60kg) semifinal duel.
Boniface Mogunde and Morocco’s Hamza Elbarbari will face each other in the men's Light Middle Weight (71kg) for a sport in the finals.
The four Kenyans hope to progress to the finals and win in their respective fields as every gold, silver and bronze medalist will take home Ksh1.2 million, Kshsh602,100 and Ksh301,050 respectively.
The AFCB Boxing Championship in Mozambique kicked off on September 9 and will be coming to a conclusion on September 18.
