Speaking exclusively to TeamKenya.co.ke, the Commonwealth Champion urged the government to waive the training fees for young athletes who struggled to earn an income.

“I will plead with the government to waive the training fees on training facilities so that young athletes can train without stress. Some of them do not even have income,” Omanayala stated.

“Now that I have the scholarship it will really help me with my training and am sure something good will come out of it,” Omanayala added.
