Tshabalala ranks the goal as the best in his career because of how it touched and brought joy to many people across the globe.
“I will always love it – it is beautiful – but the goal is bigger than me as an individual,” Tshabalala told FIFA in 2020.
He added that since that day, fans and followers remind home of the goal and the memory.
The dance celebration won many hearts, more than the goal itself.
Bafana Bafana's veteran explained that in 2004 when the organisers announced that the World Cup would be played in South Africa six years later, he was not a footballer.
The dream of playing in the World Cup gave him the urge and motivation to rise to the occasion.
South Africa will not proceed to the 2022 World Cup Qatar, set to kick off from November 20 to December 18, after they were knocked out by Ghana.
