
Unknown to many, the World Athletics has a program dubbed Kids’ Athletics that seeks to develop sports at the grass root level.
The program which was introduced in 2002 and updated in 2021 is available digitally and has been implemented by more than 100 member federations.
The program developed by coaches, teachers and young people around the globe is for children between the age of four and 14.

The practitioners of the program include coaches, teachers, volunteers and parents while the participants include young people aged between four and 14 who have a specific interest in athletics.
The Kids’ Athletics program helps provide easy-to-use teaching resources as well as offering a uniquely fun, inspiring and quality experience for young athletes.
According to the World Athletics, the program has reached an estimated cumulative audience of more than 13 million children and young people.
“Our Kids' Athletics values are respect, determination, friendship and pride. Children and young people are asked to reflect on these values throughout the program,” the World Athletics points out.
Under the program, the children are introduced to various athletics disciplines and competitive athletics.
How to Register
The application process is done online with a link provided on the World Athletics page.
Applicants should visit the World Athletics website: identity(dot)worldathletics(dot)org where they fill in their personal details first.

After filling in the personal details, one will be required to fill in their communication preference, adding details about them, how one enjoys athletics and what they would want to hear from the program.
