African teams and players have had some great moments at the quadrennial football event, with only five slots awarded to the continent.
One of the African-qualified teams is Morrocco, who has earned a World Cup slot for the sixth time in the competition.

In the 1986 World Cup held in Mexico, Morrocco made history, becoming the first African team to reach the knockout stage.
In what was their second appearance at the World Cup, Morrocco not only advanced to the round of 16 but also topped the group.
They were in Group F together with England, Poland and Portugal, with all teams failing to defeat them.
Prior to the competition, the Atlas Lions spent 40 days in Monterrey, Mexico, where they trained and acclimatised to the weather conditions.
The team that was under the coaching of Brazilian Jose Faria played a lot of friendly matches against the local clubs.
According to former Morrocco star, Mustafa El Haddaoui, thanks to the friendly matches, they had an advantage over their first-round opponents, as they understood their players.
Morocco, who suffered a 1-0 loss to West Germany in the last 16, was received by 100,000 people who accorded them a welcoming parade.
