Senegal Football Federation (FSF) board member Abdoulaye Sow issued an update on Sadio Mane's injury ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
According to Abdoulaye, the Bayern Munich forward will miss Senegal's first games owing to the leg injury he picked up while playing for Bayern.
Before departing to join the national team, Bayern noted that the 30-year-old had injured his right fibula.
Mane was named by coach Aliou Cisse in the Teranga Lions squad for Qatar despite having an injury scare.

"We will have to rely on playing the first games without Sadio and win without Sadio... No one would have wanted it, but that is what has happened to us,” Abdoulaye stated.

Mane has been a key player to the Teranga Lions as he helped his team defeat Egypt through a decisive penalty kick that saw Senegal proceed to the World Cup.
The Teranga Lions will begin their World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on Monday, November 21.
Senegal is in Group A together with host nations Qatar, Ecuador and Netherlands.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is set to kick off on Sunday, November 20 and conclude on Sunday, December 19.
